Evanescence Returns With New Album, Fall Tour

Evanescence hasn't released an album since 2011, but this fall that will all change. The band just announced a new record called Synthesis and they plan to support it with a full tour.

The album features two new songs as well as reimagined versions of the group's greatest hits featuring a full orchestra and electronics. In fact, the band is taking an orchestra on the road with them for their upcoming trek.

In a press release, singer Amy Lee said, "This is a total passion project for me. There are so many layers in our music, underneath the huge drums and guitars. I've always wanted to shine a light on some of the gorgeous [composer] David Campbell arrangements and programming elements in our songs, and that idea snowballed into completely re-doing them with full orchestra, not just strings, elaborate programming and experimentation."

The group's first jaunt with an orchestra kicks off on October 14th in Las Vegas. Tickets go on sale Friday and each one comes with a download of the new album when it drops this fall as well as a sneak peek at a reworked version of "Bring Me To Life."
